Visit Greene King’s historic Bury St Edmunds Brewery in the company of Ross O’Hara, the youngest Master Brewer in the UK.
Greene King
Ross O’Hara, our guide, has always been interested in the practical application of science and “getting beer as an output is the best form of practical application”! We’ll learn and see how he’s involved in many different brewing projects, working closely with Marketing in conceiving new product ideas, writing recipes and presenting trial brews to customers, and working with Purchasing to source new varieties of hops from across the globe. And how he’s responsible for checking laboratory analysis of beers being brewed to ensure all process stages are on track.
Car parking availability and access
There is a large car park on site, but it’s not easy to find if you haven’t been there before.
Enter 54 Tannery Dr, Bury Saint Edmunds IP33 2SD into your SatNav - this will take you directly to the entrance of the car park. At the security barrier, press the buzzer and explain you’re visiting Ross O’Hara to be let in.
See route map below: best exit from the A14 at exit 44 – to avoid going through the town centre.
Location notes
See site map of how to get to reception. The orange blocks are the 3 areas of the car park, the green line is the route to reception.
It’s best to use the car park labelled ‘1’ on the map. If this car park is full, park on the pavement outside the car park.
